Wireless Network Design Audit

Ensuring that a wireless network is secure in an environment where threats are constantly evolving requires periodic assessment of the network design. A secure network design takes into consideration the known and theoretical risks at a particular point in time. However, new risks are still emerging in the maturing wireless arena, and often security designs rely on human processes such as password requirements and routine changes. The security audit takes another look at the wireless network design, after it's been deployed, matching it up against current threats, evaluating human processes, identifying weaknesses, and providing solutions.

Rogue AP Detection

Even the best network security is rendered ineffective when misconfigured or unauthorized access points are introduced into your network. By providing a direct entry point to the network they become the weakest link in the security chain. While rouge access point detection systems are available as integrated or overlaid components, few companies have properly deployed them. This is especially true for companies who have chosen not to deploy wireless networks at all, making them prime candidates for employee deployed rogue access points. Cumulus has the tools and experience to quickly identify and locate the rogue access points installed within your facility or campus.

Network Penetration Testing

As a comprehensive service Cumulus provides wireless network penetration testing. This service not only evaluates the wireless network design through a design audit, but truly puts it to the test against the threats it would face during an actual attack. By attempting to mount real-world attacks every facet of the network, such as intrusion detection systems, human intervention, physical security, and environmental considerations are assessed as a whole. Potential entry points such as rogue access points and security vulnerabilities are identified along with solutions to address the weaknesses.
